Our leadership team are passionate about bringing their vision of Compass to life and are dedicated to fostering a thriving, innovative school environment where every child and young person thrives.
PRINCIPAL | FOUNDER | DIRECTOR
Alicia
Alicia is the Founder, Director, and Principal of Compass. She established Compass to provide Brisbane with a truly unique school, one that prioritizes each child’s individual learning journey.
Alicia holds a Bachelor of Education – Primary (Honours) and a Master of Education (Honours). With extensive experience in both Brisbane and international schools, she has also contributed to the education sector as a course content designer for QUT.

Kim
Kim is an educator with over 25 years of experience. During this time, Kim has worked as a teacher, teacher trainer, senior manager, school improvement leader, educational strategist, program and portfolio manager and university academic.
Kim has a Master of Education, BA, Grad Dip Ed. and qualifications in project management. Kim is a current PhD candidate.

Outdoor Learning and Play Guides
Our Guides facilitate play, sports, games for our children and young people during their Outdoor Learning and Play (which includes 90 minutes for our primary school children and other outdoor experiences for high schoolers).

Our office team plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day life of Compass and helping our community run smoothly. They are often the first point of contact for families and work closely with children, young people, teachers, and parents and carers across many aspects of school life.

Treasurer of Board
Steve is a director and partner at NineSquared, an economics and commercial consulting firm with offices in Brisbane and Sydney. Steve leads NineSquared’s national practice for program governance and assurance. He has played a pivotal role in conducting major strategy and governance reviews for the departments of education in both Queensland and New South Wales. Steve is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Society of CPAs. He currently serves as the chair of the expert panel advising the New Zealand Government on its national infrastructure priority programme. In addition to his consulting work, Steve is a registered teacher. He has teaching experience in Queensland state schools, TAFE, and university. Steve holds a Bachelor of Education, a Bachelor of Commerce, and a Diploma of Teaching.
Shaun is an educator, researcher and author focused on innovative approaches to teaching and learning that focus on activating student learning. Shaun has knowledge of educational systems across the world and has played a key role in developing curriculum internationally.
Nicci holds qualifications in arts and accounting and is a qualified CA with a love of and experience in audit across multiple countries and in multiple industries. Nicci has been a volunteer treasurer with a local community kindergarten and also works as a finance officer in the early education industry. Nicci is a lifelong learner who loves reading, cooking and the outdoors, especially with her children. She is passionate about travelling and learning from and about other cultures.
